Christmas Owl & Christmas Tree Cupcakes

I made red velvet cupcakes with matcha green tea cream cheese frosting.
A mouthful I know, but its the best!

Maybe Christmas cupcakes are a bit early still but I might not be in town for Christmas!

The frosting so so yummy, Don't ask me how I know...I didn't steal any of course *shifty eyes* :)

One side has the owl and the other is a Christmas tree as the green matcha is so suiting for a tree.

Royal Icing Christmas Owls

I've recently watched season one to four of Cake Boss on Netflix, which made me really itch to do some decorating. However, life would be much easier if I have a crew that did all the baking for me and all I had to do was decorate. Plus I need people to eat them afterwards.

I know making a cake taste good is just as important as making it look good but with my current oven baking just isn't simple. I don't have duel heat. Its either Top or Bottom... So things are always cooked unevenly. Anyone else have this problems. (please leave tips in comment section)

I love all pretty things and cute things and same goes for cakes.
I recently started looking into piping and cookie decorating as well.
Really amazed at how Sweetopia can pipe so steady.
I need to start learning.

So I whipped up a batch of Royal Icing and started piping...

Decorating is fun...just the cleaning is not.
and you have to make different colors and use different tips and make different icing consistency.
I got lazy and left mine on the counter overnight after making the eyes first...

and of course the icing got a bit stiff...but I banged the pan on the table and it smoothed some of it out. but you can still see that the red did not want to settle.

Here's what I made today.

I think I'm gona put these on somecupcakes!
Who wants one?

2012 Christmas Card Series: Rolling Cute Penguin Card

I've been making Christmas cards for the last week and this is
my first design for my Christmas series this year.

I am really in love with the rolling card idea from my cute sweet pea card and so made a few designs with the same card mechanism.
This is the first one but more to come so stay tuned.

This is made from a super cute penguin stamp cutout that I colored and shaded each by hand.
I cannot decide on the best sentiment for the cards but each one looks different and seems to work well.
Maybe its just me, but card making sometimes take me an hour plus for each card.
So this was a days work :D.

Ghostly Halloween Card

I'm not much of a Halloween celebrating gal because I don't even like watching scary movies.
I'm too frighten that i'll get nightmares.

But I did watch Chucky at the age of 7 because my dad was watching tv and I wanted to hang out with him....little did I know I'll be watching a movie about an evil doll...and I could have left halfway but I couldn't because I wanted to know how to destroy the doll at the end.
After that movie I threw my cabbage patch kid into the toy room and pushed a chair against the door.
From then on, I've not enjoyed scary movies :D

However, Halloween is coming up and I decided I should make a card this year as I've bought some supplies and stamps from the last two years.
Here is my first ever Halloween card.

Those graves were hard to layer, but I do love the vellum Ghosts

Apparently someone already thought an android R2D2 as part of an ad for the DIY figures I think.

That one is cute and has personality.

Android A Real Droid

I thought mini Android figures were super cute.
And ever since I got my first android phone I've never gone back.
I'm an Android girl...not into the Apple Fad.

I really wanted an android figure that was not mass produced.
So I got a plain white android figure and started working.

Happy Birthday Stamp Series - Frog

New Cards! Finally !

I love making Birthday cards because they always come in handy.
I used the frogs I made from the "create a critter" cartridge.

They were a bit of a pain to make because they were so small and left bits of fluff all over my cutting mat, but they look cuter when they are tiny. Don't you agree?

I'm am currently really in love with this new Happy Birthday Stamp
and decided to make a series of cards with that sentiment.
I just love how it works with cute card designs and I can color the hearts any color.

 Which one looks better?
I will be making more cards with that Birthday Stamp very soon!

Expression 2 Day 1

This is my first time posting with the blogger app. So here is my review on the expression 2 after a morning of cutting and gluing
Below are the critters i made with their create a critter cartridge. i think they are super cute and relatively easy to use once you get the hang of it.
my only complaint about it is the penguin so far. if you look closely the placement guides are cut too low. If the mouth was placed where the guides were on penguin to the right then it would look weird and not like their picture. i can't get right of the cuts without using the computer..so it is highly annoying
ps. the blogger app is a pain, i cant seem to place pictures in the order or way i want or create a jump.

My Cricut Expression 2 Unboxing

Say Hi to my New Toy.
After mulling 2 years over whether to get the a Cricut machine, I finally swayed in favor of it because there were so many cute cartridges that I wanted to get and their newest machine works with all their cartridges.
This is what it looks like after unboxing. I am sparing you from a cheesy video with me squealing as I take it out of the box, so you should thank me :D.  I have played with it a but I am still trouble shooting some settings as I'm having some issues with cutting smaller shapes perfectly.

lonesome power cord, thanks goodness its smaller than the xbox one :D

Is it a Boy or Girl?

Here are two other baby cards that I made but I'm not sure if I will get to use them yet.
Good for safe keeping till I hear whether is it s boy or a girl.

I don't know of anyone who's had a girl baby recently.
Boys are in season this year lol Jk.

Girls are obviously cooler in every way.

Which card so you like better?
Please leave your comments below.

Brush Sharpies and Ribbon organizer Idea

Another update after visiting Michael's!

I bought those jars of brushes and Canada ribbon on clearance and the tiny punch for 90 cents.
The stack of cardstock is super nice but this picture does not give it justice (I'm too lazy to take out the nice camera today.  Will do better picture another time :D

Mini Micheal's Haul

Most guys love electronics, some girls love clothes and make up but I love crafting supplies (and shoes and bags or course)

I visit Micheal's on a weekly or biweekly basis weather I have a coupon or not lol.
They should seriously make a points card for me.

I shop everywhere for craft supplies and its time for an official craft haul

Today I went to Micheal's with mom after dim sum and bought several things.
I also went to Daiso as I bought some <3 stickers.

I've been wanting to get the cupcake stack ever since they came out but I never had a reason to buy some because I didn't' need it. But now there's the buy one get one for 1 cent sale so who can resist.
The school stack will come in handy for my teacher friends ;) and the colored packs I don't yet have.
The coral color has been my fav this year so I had to get  a pack. I bought more beads for my 3 peas in a pod and the stamp and embellishments were on clearance.

Miniture Hong Kong Traditional Street Food Stalls

I haven't much inspiration lately and been super busy adjusting to my new job and my significant other moving out of town. I'll talk more about that later.

Lately I've been super inspired by food miniatures at Aberdeen Center I've looked at them 3 times.
I love food and tiny food is so intriguing.
I've made ice cream and donuts but food dishes to scale is a real challenge.
I want make some of my own because they look so awesome.
Please enjoy the below pictures while I take nice pics of my most recent craft creations.
Yummy curry fish balls and rice rolls
BBQ pork and my fav orange squids

My Crazy Stamp Obsession - Part 1

I have a serious confession to make....
I have a my ridiculous obsession with craft supplies and all things crafty.
Its most likely not a big surprise for my close friends who know about it... but they too have not seen my stamp collection all in one place. lol

If  I could I would eat, drink and sleep crafts.
This post will only focus on my collection of stamps.
Future post will contain other obsessions so stay tuned.

I mainly collect clear stamps, wooden/ foam stamps,  and the more versatile and compact rubber cling stamps.
STAMP PILE TIME!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...Pom Pom Edition!

Hey guys!

Over the weekend I found one of my old crafts I made when I was 3 or so. It was a pom pom ninja turtle glued onto a pencil. It was one of my favourite pencils because of that. It's pretty old so I thought it was time for a new one. So...I went and bought more pom poms!

Here's baby Rafael:

See the rest of them after the jump!

1/4 Century & Birthday Freebies

This is my super belated (a month tomorrow) birthday post.
I feel old but seriously I'm still 12 inside :P. I love cute things and watch animated movies.
I've been watching some Dexter's laboratory clips lately :D.

Life of a nursing student really doesn't leave much room for free-time. I am back dated on many posts -_-" sorriez. Now that I have finished my final preceptorship I can take a breather and blog about birthday freebies.

For my birthday this year, and for the first time ever I took advantage of several birthday freebies.
The usual discussion around birthdays are "where are these free things and ice cream everyone talks about?"

Some people may prefer not to subject themselves to free gifts from others lol but I see no harm in indulging in money saving, tummy filling activities on your birthday.

I started my day by going to Boston Pizza for some free pasta.

Not too mention it was huge...I was stuffed after half and saved the rest for my day shift at the hospital.

More about birthday freebies after the jump....

Yummy Glass Pendants

I saw these amazingly shiny glass beads at the art store so I couldn’t resist and bought 2 strings to play with.
Each string only came with 8 :(.

These glass beads remind me of stretched candy sugar but I think they are call cat eye beads which are also referred to as fiber-optic beads as they change hue depending on light reflection.

I wasn’t sure what to do with them then but they were just too pretty.
So this is what I came up with.
What do you think?

Ps. I later went on a crazy shopping binge at the art store but that’s another post :D.
More after the jump!

Squishy Cream Tarts

I've made many things in the past 2 months but just haven't gotten around to taking pics of them so I will have a few back dated posts in the near future.

Here is one of them!

They are Squishy Cream Tarts with bows!
They so so real I want' to eat them!
Don't you agree!
