More Twists and Turns / Vintage Cooper

I had so much funny Making Connie's name
I decided to make more names, I tried out another wire this time that I got a while ago to make coils. Its a smaller gauge cooper wire (but doesn't say the exact gauge) but much much much easier to work with, Hence the more intricate turns.
I found that as long as I made the letter tighter the words were less flimsy and they don't change shape.

I think I'll have to give the 16 gauge wire a rest.. I'm getting a blister from bending ><.

Here are the new names I have made: Hope you like it!
Top left is made of the silver coated cooper 16gauge wire
This one is my favorite

This is my inital that I sign off with
Another 16 gauge magenta (red) cooper
Smaller gauge Copper wire
Update on last post
So for Connie's name I wasn't too happy with the nicks in the silver coating from my pliers.
I sanded it down with sandpaper and glazed it to create this Vintage Cooper look

Name necklace for "Con con"

A friend of mine wanted a name necklace.

I did research lots of research about how its done.

I found couple of attempts at spelling connie that I didn't totally like. (too flimsy in structure)

So this is what I made. Its colored 16 gauge copper wire, because that all I have that was thick enough.
I added hearts at the end for flare :D
I hope she likes it and that its what she wanted.
I don't have the money to invest in expensive mineral wires (silver, gold) yet, but If you would like a necklace like this one with your name on it: Please contact me and maybe you can help me make my dream of being a paid aritist a reality. Thanks for reading.

Fruity Tarty

I've been having a horrible time focusing with my 5.0 mp phone camera even with a macro lens...odd colors...takes me forever to put up a post... I need a new camera ><, haven't really justified getting a DSLR though...still thinking...wish my dad would bring his canon back from Asia ><.

I've have been procrastinating again, I think this may be the last post before finals.
I've made a new tart charm...but in the process I made a huge mess and got glue on the sleeve of my work shirt cause I was too lazy to get out of them and I really wanted to finish the project...stupid glue gun!!

Here's the final product...I always make them in two or more, because I can't justify baking only 1 thing in the oven ><.

This is to Michaella, I hope you like it. Happy early Christmas! It costs time, money <3 and a shirt lol.
Monogram M on the back

Hope you like it M

Very time consuming but worth it!
Think I should sell these?

For Bal and Ash,

Thank you for being my buddies and getting my back when I was nervous about mats.
Thanks for checking up on me all the time and involving me in your convos!
I miss you both! For my special Peas <3.

After going to school in habit even though there was no class, I came home and got into my crafting again.
Stressed...stressed...This is the only thing that relaxes me (and hot showers and watching Big bang theory :D).

2 Peas in a Pod

I am truly thankful for all the the special people in my life that were/are there for me and those who feel comfortable enough to share a part of their life with me; the good times and the bad. I'm thankful for friends like you. This is made with you in mind. For those who are so much like me and for those who stick by me and make me smile when I'm down, I always feel that we're 2 peas in a pod: Inseparable at heart.

This is what I spent my afternoon and evening doing. I was afraid the baking process of the polymer clay wound burn the pearly luster but I kept an eye out and it turned out well :D. I'm happy about them.

Ribbon Box / New Michaels!!

I went to the grand opening of Micheal's with a litre of sunshine and bought ribbon, white polymer clay and paper. a litre of sunshine and I have similar taste :D which is awesome...I like the stuff she picks, so in a way she's helping me shop twice as efficient :D. We help each other spend less money ;) or so I'd like to think :D.
Ribbon with 2 sided color!! t
What I bought looks like a litre of sunshine's stash lol
I saw lots of ribbon organizers at Michael's and really wanted one of my own. I decided to make one. My ribbon box consists of a men's shoe box (stolen from my brother :D), 1 wooden dowel cut into 3 and sanded and rubber thingy plumbers use in the sink...I duno what it was... it fit snug so I got it.

plumber stuff and dowel
DC shoe box
This is my finished product...i realized I should have made holes in the side...instead of cutting slits in the side..that way I could have avoided the elastics in the back ><.. I will make a better one when I have time :D. But here's what is looks like...

Add caption

What do you think? Really ghetto and sloppy lol.. but I just wanted to see my ribbon all lined up nicely. The new ribbon I bought wouldn't fit on the dowels...because the holes were too small.. I made all the holes on the paper reels bigger to fit my dowel....but the new ribbon reels are plastic...Boo. I'll be constructing another one with thinner rods soon.

Sparkle Sparkle Little Star

I love this necklace, I made if from one of those charm bracelet parts and added dimension by connecting the chains. This necklace reminds me a night scene with stars in the sky and raindrops falling :D....the teal thing I guess is an angel :D. I love stars...yet fear darkness...how does that work? I wonder....

Ps. My current title is influence by all the children songs I've been listening to :D.  Stuck in my head ><
Why am I listening to them you say...cause I love children songs and because I'm childish :D...no seriously...it's for my school teaching plan because we're teaching 3-5 year olds...so to get through to them, music is key.

First Earring Post

I've made several pairs of earrings, but this one is my favorite.
Baby pink drop crystal makes is perfect for all pastel colored clothes.
My color choices seems to be really affected by some Japanese magazines I've seen...
Baby colors..my fav :D Or I'm just highly affected by my maternity rotation this term >< cute babes

I've wanted mostly to make necklaces and earrings but haven't thought much about cellphone charms specifically. Reasons being 1. I'm afraid it might scratch the phone because of the jewels and metal rings. 2. My Htc dream has no freaken place to put a cell charm ><. Hence it hasn't crossed my mind.
But its a good idea and I think I'll make one.

My first succesful cell phone charm will be for you Amanda.
Thanks for the encouragement <3 and cool idea.

Surprise in a Box

Surprise!!
Sheryl, I hope you like my new bow design. Took me a couple of hours but totally worth it :D.
It was procrastination to good use :D. That was on the weekend though >< No more fun now, back to paper writing article fishing and book diving.

I've recently discovered the option of publishing at a later time and date, Woohoo.. that means I can make my post earlier but post them on a more timely basis...This post was done with published at a later date option ;) I know I had to keep some suspense and make you wait :D. No time to procrastinate on a Monday when I have to get up at 5am to go to clinical the next day ><.

Something cute & Someone Special

I've been so so busy this term its crazy...and besides...I don't really have many friends who write blogs or check out my blog. Despite my need to work out the details of two group projects, in the midst of writing 2 papers and studying for a ridiculous midterm. I decided to put it all off and stay up to posting something.

I made this 2 weeks ago and just haven't had the time to put it up.  The teal pearl and the stars are connected so when one side lengthens the other shortens. I really like sphere with heart shaped holes. I made this for fun no special occasion yet.

The next surprise is specially made this for someone special, I'm not going reveal it is until she opens it so it won't ruin the surprise if they do read my blog :D. <3. Fyi not the necklace seen above made previously although the box looks alike...

Birth

In the midst of a heavy school life and 5:30 mornings, I've finally put a finger on what I really enjoy and what I really need to save time for.... Me, myself and my crafts. I've set  crafts aside for what I thought were more important things such as school studying and procrastination. I've now swap some wasted time into more productive things of interest.

In the recent months I've been buying a lot of patterned scrapbook paper, stickers, crafting supplies, baking supplies and jewelry supplies. Whenever I have time I'd go and buy things looking for sales and getting addicted to those Micheal's 50% off coupons. Now that I've accumulated so much stuff I realized I haven't' used most of it.
So here I've started this blog to put all that i've bought to good use.

I'll be posting my baked creations, decorated cakes, homemade cards, jewlery I've made and some new interests I've found and their results. So stay tooned.
